TRANSITAINER, S.A. was established in Barcelona in 1981, with a first activity of freight forwarding. We acquired very good experience in handling and clearing perishables, particularly fresh fruit, coming to Europe from South America. Thereafter, we started the activity of Ship’s Agent for reefer vessels from Central America, mainly with fresh fruit. Our staff can offer vast knowledge on perishables. We have also done chartering of ships to transport big transformers, road building machines, fishing boats, and other project cargo, within Mediterranean ports and West Africa. Presently we are handling 6 River-Sea vessels ranging from 1300 tons to 2500 tons operating in the Mediterranean basin mainly for bulk and project cargoes. We have vast experience shipping fruits from the main Spanish and South France production areas (Badajoz, Lerida, Valencia, Sevilla, Toulous) to Middle East, Far East, South America, West Africa and North Africa. Four years ago we developed a weekly sea container service as NVOCC between Spain and Algeria accepting also reefer, general and project cargo. To be able to offer to our customers all the necessary links for Customs clearance, we obtained the Spanish Customs License to clear all kind of goods both for import, export and transit. Transitainer is also offering Reefer Trucking Services between Spain and North Europe, and cold storage facilities in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Algeciras and Vigo.
